LOOK WHAT I GOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I'm shouting. Yes, the photos are crappy. Well, oh well. It's a great grey owl, and I photographed it, and the photos are way less crappy than the last time I photographed a great grey owl. And this brings my lifetime great grey owl sightings to 10, and also, is an excellent omen.

Well... I don't know. I always assume owls are excellent omens, so I'm assume that successfully photographing a rare owl is an even more excellent omen, but I don't have any scientific evidence that they really are omens. But the last time I saw great grey owls, I saw four of them in 45 minutes around Slave Lake, and then right away my stalker broke up with his girlfriend, and shortly thereafter I got my first carpentry job. So at least you can't prove that owls are not an excellent omen.

And this isn't even my only owl of the weekend. This one was at Km 103 on Highway 3 and obviously I stopped for it. But I also saw a northern hawk owl at Km 174 on Highway 1, which I didn't stop for because I had a passenger and felt self-conscious. I wasn't gonna miss a second owl in one day for his sake, though. And what's funny too, he didn't see the first owl, and had a hard time finding the second one even when I pointed it out. So much for that Native in-tune-with-nature thing?

And the first owl omen of the weekend is that I found an owl feather. From the great horned owls on the river trail. I've been looking for them for weeks and not seeing them, but Saturday afternoon, they gave me a feather, thusly:

Yes, I'm sure it wasn't there in the morning. I walk there three times a day, I notice things out of the ordinary.

And this is only the second time that an owl feather has been given to me, but the first one I made a dreamcatcher with it and gave it to an Elder. This one, I kept. I put it on the feng shui collage in my Relationship corner. I'll have to see later why it was given to me, but in the mean time, hopefully it brings some wisdom to my relationships.

So, I had plenty of Owl Luck this weekend, which is sure to be an excellent omen. Even if the photos are fairly crappy. And now I really ought to be going to bed.

Wow!

I love it! I have never ever seen a great grey owl and frankly, don't see owls very often, I will have to figure out how to detect them, since I am sure they must be out there if I looked more carefully.

And the owl feather HAS to be a good omen
